Flor and her daughter move from mexico to america in search of a new home. Flor only knows spanish yet works as a "maid" for an english family who is having some troubles themselves. Her daughter goes to school to learn english to help translate for her mother. When Flors family she works with moves to a new house farther a way from their old one, Flor and her daughter move in with them. Together, many problems occur as they try to brake the language barrier.
